AB This  chapter  describes  pathology  that  may  lead  to  foot  pain,  including  generalized,  dorsal  foot,  forefoot  and  toe,  hindfoot,  and  midfoot.  Local  causes  of  foot  pain  are  defined  as  pathology  that  occurs  within  the  foot,  either  deep  to  or  distal  to  the  medial  and  lateral  malleoli  of  the  tibia.  Remote  causes  are  defined  as  occurring  outside  this  region.
