aconite

A. napellus (monkshood) and A. lycoctonum (wolfsbane); a poisonous alkaloid that may cause life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias. Aconite is believed to have been used as an arrow poison early in Chinese history and perhaps also by the inhabitants of ancient Gaul.
