This section focuses on internal communication, the intrapersonal element of human interaction. Chapter 4 explores the dimensions and impact of self-talk, the internal coaching system that ultimately affects our perceptions of competence, empowerment, and outlook. Mindfulness, the ability to observe ourselves in action without judgment, and to concentrate fully on the present moment, is explored in Chapter 5. Finally, Chapter 6 begins the exploration of the internal aspects of emotional intelligence (EI), or the fundamental building blocks of authentic human interaction.
