AB JuliusTwenty-three-year-old  Julius  was  admitted  to  the  hospital  with  a  bacterial  infection  of  unknown  origin.  He  is  now  medically  stable  but  weak.  He  is  able  to  use  his  arms  to  help  move  himself  in  bed,  but  he  is  unable  to  lift  his  legs  off  the  bed  without  assistance.  The  task  today  in  therapy  is  to  help  Julius  stand  in  the  parallel  bars  from  a  wheelchair.  At  6’8”,  Julius  doesn’t  believe  there  is  any  way  his  5’6”  therapist,  Heather,  can  get  him  into  a  standing  position  and  keep  him  from  falling.How  can  Heather  create  a  mechanical  advantage  that  will  allow  her  to  assist  Julius  safely  and  effectively  in  rising  to  a  standing  position?
